Course Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements for Diploma in Food Science & Processing Technology

A candidate is eligible for admission to the Programme on meeting at least one of the following requirements:

  • Have completed A-level and have one principle pass in Biology, Chemistry, Food & Nutrition, Agriculture, Physics, or Mathematics and also passed at their sitting of O-level
  • Must possess a Recognised certificate in relevant areas of Science and from recognized institutions. The relevant areas of science include; Agriculture, Science Education, Food Processing, Nutrition, or related studies, from recognized/accredited Institutes.
  • Must have passed the Mature Age Entry Examinations recognized by National Council of Higher Education in Uganda or its equivalent.                        
  • Other international students who do not undertake A-level should have passed mature entry exams or have an equivalent of A-level of Uganda and have a background in Science subjects mainly Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, Food and Nutrition, or Mathematics.
  • Or Must successfully undertake the Bugema University Science Bridging Program (SBP) before enrolling into the Diploma Program
