The Relevance (Why the course is being taught)

This Diploma Program shall consist of lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, laboratory practical* [telecommunication, electronics, and ICT], engineering projects* [telecommunication, electronics, data communication, and computer networking], industrial training*, and study visits/field tours*.

Benefits of the Program/Program Objectives

At the end of the study, the students are expected to acquire special skills, and work as Telecommunication/Electronic Engineers. The acquired special skills will include:

  • Install, operate, and repair/service Telecommunication Equipments 
  • Integrate, install, operate, and maintain Telecommunication Systems

[Includes Mobile and Satellite Systems]

  • Design and configure Computer Networks and Software
  • Create jobs in the Telecom, Electrical, and Electronics Engineering sector

[Set up, manage, and maintain small Engineering workshops]

  • Proceed for further degree career studies in Telecom/Electrical/Electronics Engineering

Target Group

This diploma program is designed to cater for all those who meet the UICT admission requirements that include: 

  • Holders of UACE [A Level] in Science subjects [especially Mathematics/Physics]
  • Holders of UCE [O Level] with relevant certificate to improve on their careers
  • In-service engineering professionals officers with relevant Certificate qualifications
